Late afternoon last Saturday we were on the way to Hollacombe when a local farmer driving a tractor loaded with hay bales passed us on the way back to his farm.

A moody composition from the countryside. The houses and the tractor with hay adds to the rural feel. I like the road curving and leading us to the setting sun. The later afternoon sun has offered magical and eye-catching colours to the sky. Nice one, thanks for sharing.

a lovely shot this and some welcome winter sun. They used to say a farmers life was uncomplicated, but in this modern age I would imagine those days are long gone. This does smack of those days and has a wistful atmosphere about it. Beautiful reminder of days gone by - come over all nostalgic now! Blissful image.

If it were not for the power lines and truck this would look like a fifty's scene. Splendid colours with the late sun, super tree, great Pov, and well managed.
Have a great afternoon,

This is always very pleasant in an country side to coming with farmers with driving a tractor and not with horses as formerly.

Thnak you for having visited on of my photo. Here, I like the mood of this composition where the light has benn well managed. The bare tree has been well placed in the image and makes a good framing for the other elements.

A charming scene which has continued as a routine over years and years.
I love your viewpoint: a leading road, a silhouetted tree strongly placed, houses in the distance, all set against this glorious, yellow sky and the hay load for a focal point.
My only suggestion would have been to select the hay load and just sharpen this. It would make it stand out more as your focal point but the rest of the shot would loose mood if sharpened more.
My warm regards,

this is so attractive with the colours attracting the eye. Compositionally, the shot is well balanced – and the farmer who is heading home is giving the shot an added human element. My compliments!

A very attractive view with stunning and well saturated colours. My eyes go back and forth between the large tree, the tractor and the warm colours of sunset. All these elements, including also the curving road, together create a fine composition. It's only the houses that look a bit dull, but since they are partly hidden they don't disturb the view so much.

Very well captured sunset colours. The lonely tree provides a very good pattern. A very pleasantly composed picture.

A very beautiful coloured sky and a good composition with the curving road.
For me the most attractive is the silhouette of that big tree with its huge number of branches and sub-branches.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Les - So peaceful and evocative, your shot harks back to a time when life was lived at a slower pace. The title reminds me of the old Hovis Bread advert although the song was called Going Home, you know, the one where the boy pushes his bike up the cobbled street. The shot has a similar feel to it. Beautiful! Warm regards Rosemary

here we can enjoy the blast of colours. I love how you composed it with the tree off-centred. The texture of that tree is also interesting. Love the layers of colours. Great light management to produce an eye catching one. Very well done. Tfs.

I was going to comment on your previous rainbow picture, but found myself returning to this one time after time this evening. I'm struck by the atmosphere this picture exudes. It's one of those moments and scenes that takes place throughout the world, and I think that's what helps make it so attractive, as we can all pretty much relate to the visual.
The combination of colors are gorgeous, a relatively simple pallet, but they all transition so very well. As for one of my personal favorites, the silhouette, that tree is a wonderful centerpiece to this composition. Wisely taken opportunity here, this turned out great! Have a terrific weekend.

Either in the morning or in the afternoon you usually get a very nice light and atmosphere. This is another good one. I like this rural atmosphere, with the tractor passing with the hay. Light and tonalities are very good.
