Good Morning Everyone,
This morning my photograph shows a most unusual building. I just love the shape; is it something from a space mission, a turtle's shell or a bomb shelter, or just a room with a view!
Actually, it is the top of renown chef, Gary Rhodes's restaurant, The Dome. You can see why the restaurant bears that name! It is situated on Plymouth Hoe with fine views of the sea.
Inside, the restaurant is very modern, just what you would expect from a well known chef. For those who may not have heard of him, I will add this link which tells all about the chef.
I will also add a w/s here which I took inside the restaurant, showing the dome from underneath. You will, also, be able to see the top of Smeaton's Tower, which I posted yesterday.
Having told you all this about the restaurant, I would love to be able to talk to you about the food. But, what can I say, when we arrived, they had just stopped serving food and we were only able to order a drink ... which was fine!
Have a lovely day,

A very modern looking restaurant with a most appropriate name. Your point of view shows the graphical lines of the unusual architecture to great effect. I like the low light and muted tones.

Indeed a specially architecture picture.
The form of the dome with glass or polystyrene roof makes the picture nice.
Sometimes are architects and engineer are exactly artists.
Lovely composition, splendid presentation.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice week,

well, many different ideas come to mind when i see this one....for example the FIRST thing that came to mind was 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea....remember that story! haha
for sure a very cool post!
and no, I would never have thought this was a restaurant!
your crop and compo made it all work.

Excellent roof (if I may call it roof) detail close-up photo with very nicely balanced colors, perfect light, very good clarity. The well-chosen tight crop eliminates all unwanted distractions. Well done.

have to agree this is a fascinating looking image and your crop has added to the intrigue and effect perfectly. Must be wonderful to sit beneath this glass dome and experience top quality cuisine. Shame you were too late, but this shot is both original and adequately makes up for that. I really like it!
Have a good week - B.

Ce ne doit pas être donné de manger à cet endroit. Mais pour essayer les produits des grands chefs, il faut ce qu'il faut.Assez impressionnant comme architecture avec quand même un petit côté vieillot.

...No, but looking like that, I suppose. The modern shape of this restaurant is really interesting. Great thinking to post it. A unique one with sharp details. Very good composition. Enjoyed it a lot. Tfs.
Have a nice day.

I would have definitely guessed spacecraft, or something related to CERN!? :) This is certainly one of the most interesting designs I've ever seen for a restaurant...some far out of the box thinking went into this one!
I love the originality of this, presenting something entirely unexpected, and including a WS image which ties right into the previous. I'd still be a bit nervous eating here though, for fear that dome portion might start spinning at some point and actually take off into outer space! :o Great way to showcase this unique style, a solid composition all the way around...and since you didn't get a chance to eat here, at least there's good reason to return!

What a cool place! And I would never have thought this to be a restaurant, I thought spaceship or failing that perhaps a greenhouse or laboratory. I love te POV you chose for this, with the other buildings on the right and the nicely active sky. Cool view from inside the place too of that lighthouse, a nice view to have while easting nice expensive food!
All the best

An unusual building it is, Beverly. But I can see it does mingle nicely with the old wall and its grey color's.
Modern structure, interesting enough to draw attention, and pic. very well composed from your chosen perspective.
Sea and cloudy sky add a nice winter ambiance.
