A couple of days ago I was driving the few miles from home to Biggar and came around a corner and had to stop suddenly because of this beautiful view of warm afternoon sunlight blazing across the sky and lighting the trees and hedges by the side of the road. The view was spectacular and I just hope that I have, in some small measure at least, captured some of the beauty of the moment.

The richness of the colour and beauty of the light here are enough to stop anyone dead in their tracks John and I thank you for sharing this magical moment. I'm sure half the success of landscape photography is catching the light at an opportune moment and here you have done just that. A beautiful scene and as always your management is top notch. Have a lovely weekend Rosemary

Wow! Yes you have caught the beauty of the moment, decisively! Shame we didn't have much of that sort of weather when we came up to your neck of the woods. I might have cropped a gnat's off the bottom maybe. Good work.

Ciao e buona serata

I was impressed with the Scottish Borders, their scenery was beautiful and the autumnal colours accentuated that beauty.
No wonder you had to stop to capture this scene!
The road leads us into a wonderful tunnel of colours, the trees on the left and the hedgerow on the right!
The low light is exquisite, shading the road for maximum contrast with the highlighted vegetation; yet, in the distance, the sun is piercing the vegetative cover, making the road look red with its rich hues.
You know, we need this gentle lulling into winter. Snow has been forecast for next week!
Have a great w/e,

can fully understand why you stopped the car for this one. It is just stunning and so typical of the magical light that can stop you in your tracks at this time of year. Add in the golden colours of the season and you have a recipe for amazing beauty. This illustrates my point succinctly and of course you have captured it just exquisitely. A real cracker of a shot! Bravo!
Enjoy your weekend - B.

Glorious - the light and the rich colours look true and not turned up in PS. What a moment to stop the car and not the sort of thing that we can do on the M25! As to the cropping I think that Will has a point - just a small crop perhaps to the bottom of the fence.
Excellent scenery beautifully recorded.
Kind Regards, Ann

a beautiful country road, so delightful to follow in any kind of means. I like very much the depth and the long perspective of your composition which gives us the impression of being on this road and then opens up to the delicious warm light and the exquisite autumn colours above. The feeling of being surrounded by this beauty is very heart warming, the peace and contentment evoked are precious. The intensity of light and contrast has been managed excellently. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,
trevormoffiet (3112) 2013-11-17 3:02
You have indeed captured the beauty of that instant in time. A tremendous autumn composition with the road, the avenue of sunlit trees, the fence and hedge leading the eye across patches of light into the distance. All balanced nicely by the sky and distant hills.
PS. You might be pleased to know that your recent comments on sharpness of my images and your workshop on my image activated me to improve my sharpening skills (which were non existent until now.)
