Last weekend I had to take my daughter to an artist supply shop to get materials she required for a school project when I stumbled upon the beautiful little town of Whitehead on the Co Antrim coast that I had never been to before. This quartet of colourful houses is situated on the sea front overlooking the mouth of Belfast Lough.Whitehead is an old Victorian seaside resort.

Great colors! It's always nice to stumble upon something new and interesting. I wonder if all these neighbors decided on this rainbow together. All of these four houses are identical - except for the colors...and the one with the big bush in front. :-) It's very charming and bright.

I like very much the way you illuminated this picture, the vivid bright colours stand out superbly and give special appeal to the architectural shapes. You've exalted colours and shapes very effectively through a well considered tight framing. The blue sky makes a fine, vivid backdrop and the two parked cars in front of the houses add depth and reference. A very attractive picture, congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,

haha...at close inspection it looks like you have a man or woman looking at your through their window on the right! :) Its kind of creepy haha
well, i'm glad you happened to stumble upon this town of Whitehead, it looking very unique for sure.
So for how long does this row of homes go on for?
I gotta get my shades!

I cannot imagine the occupants of these houses having the courage to choose these colours but, once painted, they make a strong individual statement. They remind me of something from a children's programme! If ever we did collages at school, children would always choose colours like this, wonderful vibrancy!
This is a photographer's dream!
Well seen and captured with excellent sharpness.
My warm regards,

Nice picture based on an eye-catching play of vivid colours for an optimal visual effect. The colourful façades stand out so proudly against the beautiful sky. However, I was tempted to fix the perspective distortion in your image as the houses seem to be leaning backwards (see WS). Hope you didn't mind.

Wow! I love your note about having to visit an artists' supply shop - seeing these amazingly painted houses makes me think that someone must have got to that shop before you and bought up all their stock! I hope your daughter still managed to get what she needed!
But isn't it nice when you've been abroad and visited many far-flung places, to find some real jewels not far from your own home?
It looks not like just a quartet of colourful houses - those four houses are indeed brightly coloured but the ones on either side are too.
The lovely soft light has brought out the amazing vibrancy of the colours here and they stand out beautifully against a clear blue sky. Perfect exposure, a fine composition and exquisite details and sharpness.

The colors are so cheerful that they brightened up my night. On the way to an evening meeting, I had to drive through a squall - the continuation of the first snowfall. It is good to see such cheerful colors.

Good morning Arthur,
Fabulous 6 diff. colors decorated the facades we see here.
Vivid and pleasent to the eyes, and well collected a front view on.

Colour me beautiful Arthur! What an eye catching collection of houses all in such sunny colours! I have a theory, due to the high percentage of cloudy and wet days Ireland experiences people paint their houses in this way in order to cheer themselves up! Being a little bit conservative I'll choose the blue house! BTW, do you see the ghost in the upper window of the turquoise house? You were being watched. Lovely shot. Warm regards Rosemary

Fabulous image with these houses whose facades surprised by the intense colors, the effect of having each color so different at the same time intense, makes the image draws you like a magnet.
Very well done. I love his attraction.
Magnificent the management of the brightness and sharpness.
Enjoy a good evening.
Best wishes ..

I love the styles of those old beach side towns, they always look charming and like time has passed them by. Somebody has put a lot of thought and effort into color coding here, and its paid off as this looks brilliant! What an eye catching focal point in the town this must make. Another one to my list for my visit to the area!
