The River Tavy rises a short distance south east of Fur Tor on the high moors of the northern plateau of Dartmoor National Park. It's joined by a number of brooks or streams before it cuts through the glorious Tavy Cleave on its way south west to Tavistock. Extensive dark mixed plantation covers its valley sides, creating a sense of isolation and secrecy. Watermeadows on the valley floors and pockets of broadleaved woodland add variations in colour and texture. Streams glide between craggy wooded banks covered in mosses and ferns, tumble over boulders and rocks, and flow under ancient bridges.

Simple compo but beautiful result
I like the association of fall foliage with the silver of water, shot at long exposure
Very bucolic and esthetic shot
have a nice evening, cheers

Un joli cliché de l'automne avec la couleur de ces feuillages à droite.Un très bon choix de la vitesse à 2 secondes pour donner cet effet à cette rivière.

you have really captured a lovely autumnal scene here along this river. the colours in the trees are beautiful. very warm and appealing. your exposure time has created a fantastic effect on the water as it navigates through these rocks.
have a great week,

Hello Leslie - Simple and pure, a fine autumn shot. The colours of the foliage are not overstated and the shot has a serenity which I find attractive. Warm regards rosemary

The beautifully lit autumn foliage makes a superb contrast with the fast flowing waters of the River. Excellent realisation.

This is a most stunning picture of autumn with trees sporting some glorious colours - greens, yellows, reds, oranges, browns - all there. And, sadly, this might become a historic photograph if, as is supspected, we lose very many of our ash trees.
But, of course, it's not only the trees which are so appealing in this photograph but the water too as it softly flows, giving some beautiful reflections of the bright sky in fine contrast to its inkiness in the shaded areas.
Gorgeous vibrant colours, perfect (long) exposure and stunning details and sharpness.
P.S. You do not mention use of your 10-stop ND filter so I presume it must have been pretty dim when you took this one.

Ahh this is what I miss in the NOrthern Hemisphere, you actually have an Autumn. Beautiful colours and the slowed down shutter has worked a dream on the water. The rocks look like they've been wrapped in plastic. I also like how the trees have formed a lovely natural frame for the hoto.
Lovely shot, not long now til we see you on these shores!
