Donna Nook is a firing range used by Royal Air Force for bombing practice. Strangely enough this does not seem to bother the local population of grey seals. Apart from shooting targets Donna Nook also accommodates one of the widest known seal sanctuaries in the UK attracting over 40 thousand visitors a year. The seals come out of the sea every October to breed on the beach and stay there for several months.

Great picture of this nice seal who pose to you. The light gives wonderful gold color to the seal. The vagueness inforeground and background is very good and emphasizes the seal. I was lucky to see several seals in Iceland and this is a great show. Congratulations.

Hopefully this beauty doesn't wander over a target someday... really lovely light makes this shot stand out, Kasia. A wonderful subject caught at a great moment, but the golden light that is being cast over it, coupled with a wonderful DOF - really makes the seal shine.

This is quite an artist! A nice balance act and a very good picture the light brown seal against the blue backgound. A very pleasant colour combination!

Seals in England? I wasn't aware of that. But this chap seems to enjoy the sunbath in a warm and golden light. Great wildlife picture with a perfect DOF, focus pin sharp on the seal. Very nice indeed.
have a good weekend

What you wrote: the Seal is posing beautiful
for you and the lower sunlight creates nice
warm colors (almost a golden Seal). The
composition and light management are as
always great. Also great is the POV, but
one point is extra great and that is the
low position in this picture, an example
for a lots of people.
Almost forgotten: the picture is also cute.

Excellent low angle.....a great way to take wildlife photos! It looks like you probably were lying on the ground when you took this, is that right? I myself started using this method a couple of years ago when photographing birds and other small creatures. When you get down to their level they are less afraid and therefore you can get better photos. Excellent work.

What a pose you got on photo! Great close range portrait given to the seal, and a bright sun flashed it with golden tones.
We were hoping to see seals in the Isle-of-Skye, but we did not see any, nor Otters or any other animals, except for some eagles flew above our bus.
Have a nice Sunday,
