Lowlight ... 2 Years & 500 Shots, a photo from East Sussex, England

Photographer's Note

A low winter sun breaks through the clouds and lights up the colourful beach huts along the edge of the beach in the town of Seaford, East Sussex, England.

Today (14/05/2012) is the second anniversary of my joining this splendid community of fellow photographers and artists. The wonderfully inspiring images posted by you, my fellow members and friends, plus of course your marvellous comments means my enthusiasm for TE is undiminished despite uploading my 500th image yesterday.

Words cannot express my gratitude and appreciation of your interest and help in what is always going to be a work in progress.

A BIG thank you for making what started out as a mere pastime into a passion.

Good Morning Brian

I know how you feel. I'm sure your notes express the feelings of many people in this community - it was just a brief pastime and yet it has grown to be a large part of your waking hours! But, don't we learn a lot here!
It's a bit like an Andy Warhol with its repeating images and bright colours. It's beautifully presented, sharp, well saturated and a great anticipation of the Great British Summer!

Had to drop in & say Congrats! Your pictures from your country & specially those from Greece provide lovely insights into architecture & composition. Your use of light & colours can be a lesson for many of us (me for sure). In this simple theme you posted here, its all about these two things...colour & light, composed effectively to make a visually attractive picture.

Fabulous Brian. The light across the fronts of the cabins is so perfect creating a colourful contrast to the dark sky and pavement. This can only be a 'Brian' shot.

Good Evening Brian

They have these same style of bathing boxes in Brighton, a suburb of Melbourne in Victoria and both make great photogenic subjects. Good sharpness & wonderful warm cold colour contrasts between the red, yellow & blue. The diagonal axis adds both linear perspective & dynamism. Tfs!

this one is simply a "timecapturer" photo!

What a lovely note you have written, not just complimentary to Adam and his TrekEarth site but also to all those who contrbute so many wonderful photographs and so many kind and helpful (and, thankfully, also critical and constructive) comments and critiques. I, like many here, totally concur with your views. In fact, I found this site merely by chance nearly six years ago and immediately joined up (I also joined TL and TN at the same time) and have had great fun and have learned a lot, not just about photography but about the World in general. When I was working, I found I had litle time to dedicate to the site but now that I am a member of the idle poor, I seem to spend more and more enjoyable hours here!

This is another of your fine photographs from Sussex, again with wonderfully simple yet strong composition. The colours are vibrant and the different coloured beach huts stand out proudly against a wonderfully dark sky as they are illuminated by the low angle warm sunlight.

Fabulous colours and contrasts, perfect exposure and exquisite details and sharpness.
