The remains of Wilmington Priory in East Sussex, England. Once a cell of the Benedictine Abbey at Grestain in Normandy, the monks used to use the adjoining parish church to pray, where the 1000-year-old yew trees in the churchyard are testament to how old this site is. Now owned by The Landmark Trust it is only open to the public about once or twice a year but is available as a place to stay all year round.

I'm always charmed by the elegance and the natural armony of the English (or we can say UK and do not forget anybody) ancient buildings; the pleasant simmetry af the windows, the proportions of all parts and the ability to join different stones to create artistic simply effects. I like it.

Hello Brian ,
The red tiled roof is the attractive element in this well compsed picture . In combination with bleue and green , it is allways a success .

I knew it was yours form the thumbnail..the red, blue and green, conbine together make a beautiful picture. The colours are strong and unique..I like the POV.

You did an excellent job finding a good view between the trees and the inclusion of the tree trunk to the left works well. I do not think you would have found a better POV it you have moved a little bit to keep it outside the frame. You also had very good timing with the lighting conditions. The sunlit buildings look very attractive especially the tiled roof is an eye –catcher. TFS and have a nice Sunday evening!

An interesting note and a well composed photograph which obeys all the rules but also just looks right.
Lovely vibrant colours (not oversaturated!), perfect exposure, lovely lighting and, as always, exquisite sharpness.

Une jolie lumičre donnant de belles couleurs saturées ŕ ce bâtiment qui contraste merveilleusement avec le ciel bleu. J'ai juste un petit doute sur la nécessité de laisser le tronc d'arbre dans l'image?

The red roof contrasts superbly against the blue sky. The saturation although strong is superb. Good sharpness, shadow detail & framing. The trees add graphism, depth layering & add interest. Tfs & have a nice week!
