Good Morning Everyone,
This is a second shot, that I took when visiting the Lowry Theatre, Salford Quays, Manchester.
This aspect really gives a 'space age' impression and emphasises the very modernity of the new buildings. (L.S Lowry, a famous Salford painter, after whom the site is named, would not recognise these high rise buildings. He was famous for his matchstick figures and terraced grimy streets. However, he would recognise the matchstick men!)
The Lowry Theatre is on the left, with the foot bridge, which I will post later, behind you.
This whole area has been a success story, regenerating the rundown quays at Salford. Media City, BBC studios, are also on this site, as is the Imperial War Museum North.
I will explain, as I did with my last shot from here, that I only had my small casio with me but it has coped quite well.
Thank you for your visit, Bev :-)

A good upward pov on this striking modern architecture with outstanding perspective & reasonable fg sharpness. Excellent graphism & subdued colours. Good pp work on the blurred sky. I did not spot it at first which is exactly as it should be! Tfs!

Thanks for kind words.
Taking this POV was not an easy task, with the variable dimension on close range and on the far side, on low light conditions. But you managed a fairly good the distance changes.
We don't see many Manchester pictures on TE, usualy, and I was never there, so TE sure add the miss.
Have a nice friday,

a superb POV that makes this look so impressive. The people give us a sense of scale here and the image has fascinating lines. Was it your intenstion to include such Lowry-esque humans? Very effective!
Enjoy the weekend - Brian.

Hello Bev,I like the little matchstick men beneath the towering architecture,a nice Lowry touch.
The Casio hasn`t let you down, there are some lovely details to enjoy.
Best regards Les.

You have given us a very interesting and informative note and this is a very well composed shot to accompany it.
Although your last picture from here was really quite excellent, I think this one shows the failings of your small camera compared to your lovely Nikon. The details and sharpness are not nearly so good nor are the colours so faithful. As I say, the composition and camera work are excellent but I'm afraid in this case your little compact camera has let you down a bit.
But here on TE, I think critiques should be aimed at photographers and not at cameras so this one still well deserves deux points!

Once again, this is definitely not the same Manchester I saw in 1960! You have gathered many interesting forms here into a very modernistic composition. I enjoy the balance in your picture here.

Une architecture impressionnante par sa hauteur et ces formes différentes, super bon cadrage et détails

Good evening Bev,
A very well seen take on the theatre this is. You used the massive pillar very well to anchor the more delicate diagonals of the facade. And after that there's a street scene to be enjoyed, opening up the image. Well timed too.
And again the little Casio didn't let you down :-)
Have a fine start of the week tomorrow,

Hi dear Bev
This is very striking architecture, I love the graphism and the vertical framing. The inclusion of the people add a sense of scale and interest.
Thanks for sharing, have a happy day

Well taken, good effect from this pov, interesting modern architecture and contrast with lines, diagonal and curves, good light management.
