Photographer's Note
Hello Everyone,
Sometimes, a wait can make all the difference.
I had been eager to go for a walk but the weather was very wet and grey, certainly not the sort of light to inspire a walker or a photographer, so I waited.
Later in the day, the clouds parted and the sun emerged - the wait had been rewarded.
The shot shows a path beside a reservoir, about six miles from my home. The edging, drystone wall is typical of the area; they are used to mark field boundaries.
The details of the path give some indication of the volume of water that descended earlier on, and provided quite a nice reflection.
Thank you for sharing my locality, Bev :-)

Hello Bev,
What a lovely late springtime scene!
A lovely sky with fluffy white clouds, green grass and trees with fresh foliage, bright light, people out for a relaxing walk - memories of hacyon carefree days of better weather and relaxation. And, other than the big puddles on the path, no hint that it had been pouring rain just a few hours earlier! Still, those puddles do provide a fine relection of the two walkers.
Lovely soft colours, perfect exposure and excellent detail and sharpness. A fine note too.
Beautiful!
Have a great weekend,
John.

Hi Bev,
Yes, when you can wait for the better weather is OK. But when travelling it is not possible, you must keep on going, sun or rain. nice view as I remember from my visit in UK. These stone walls are so characteristic. You live in great place, I envy the people that have such beautiful landscape colose from their homes. lakes, hills, nothing like this near warsaw.
Warm regrads

Hi Beverley
The old rock wall leading in from the bottom right corner & the path at left provide good lead in lines & linear perspective. Excellent sharpness & the couple animate the scene. You've caught their reflections in the puddles too. Tfs!

Hi Beverly,
The rural trails offer a wonderful strolling opportunities, with photo's also, and quite muddy after the rain, yet a nice advanture.
Nature in abundance, can make someone spend hours in such location, taking pictures...
Have a nice weekend,

Hello Beverley
have to agree with your sentiment here, the number of times I have loitered around waiting for the sun, do get some strange looks too!! This is a great view and one that makes you long for those long days in June. Perfectly executed and composed. Puddles look a bit dangerous though! could almost be a scene from "You've Been Framed" ;-)
Enjoy the weekend - Brian.

Hi Bev
these large puffy clouds are the best days for taking photos.
just imagine this scene without those clouds, it would make a strong difference. I used to think for a long time, that cloudless days are better, but now i think not! I love the cloudy days.
the small addition of the human element worked in your favour here, it adds alot visually - makes the viewer think about one's own personal experiences in the past.
I see this as a reflective scene.
nice work
cheers

Hi Beverley,
Your engaging personal note sets the stage for a timeless view of the English countryside. The crisp air following a heavy rain elevates the one's spirit. The stonework is interesting. I've never seen the top course of a wall alternate between horizontal (flat) stones and vertical ones, a combination that would make sitting on the wall quite unappealing. I imagine this would preserve the wall better, but why the wire fence?
Have a good Sunday, Bev,
Bulent
