This is the pathway running along the south bank of the Thames. In 2000, after some refurbishing of the whole area, it was called the Millennium Mile. It goes from Westminster bridge up to Tower bridge. Although it’s about two miles long only it may take a whole morning to go through it because of the many attractions and things to see and to visit: the London Eye (the tallest ferris wheel in the world), the art gallery Tate modern, the Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, the London town hall and numerous restaurants, pubs, cafés, etc. and so it’s attended at all hours by huge crowds of people.
In the photo you can see the unmistakable sight of the house of Parliament.

Good street photography, an attractive discovery. Its fun looking at, a hustle and bustle of city life and the view point is lovely displaying the day to day activity. I like the treatment, the toning work you've done has worked really well. Good variety of vivid colors to absorb, a happy mood well depicted here. Excellent work. Well done.

Hi Donato, They like there "Miles", in Edinburgh is Royal Mile. It looks like a very nice walkway, with the impressive view of attractive monuments. Fantastic view of the Parliament from under the bridge. Nice inclusion of people going. I like this original composition, pleasant colours, superb sharpness.
have a nice Sunday

very interesting composition. I am a postcard like person so I would probably not even think about it. Having the Parliament just as a promise far in the distance emphasize the value of this walk, also the lamps make an interesting repeated motive and a nice marker of the perspective. The sky was gloomy I see so framing with the bridge fragment from above let you to make the scene much more interesting.
I really have to get back to London some day it is so photogenic.
Have a great Sunday!

Ciao caro Donato,

This is an unusual scene in England, and one that I like very much. The river bank in this area is indeed very interesting, and i walked along myself last March. People seem to be dressed for a much cooler season than one would expect in August, but then, this is England. I did not have enough time, but I would have liked going on the London Eye to see the views from that height.
You asked about Oporto. My cruise went from Dover on August 2 to Oporto on August 4, then onto Lisbon. We spent a day in Oporto and like it very much. It is Portugal's second largest city; it is extremely hilly. There is a deep gully where the River Douro meanders through the city, and very high bridges over the gully. One of the bridges was designed by Eiffel, and another by his assistant. There is also a bookstore in the historic part of town that inspired the library scene in Harry Potter. It seem J.K. Rowling was married to a man from Oporto, and used to spend time in the bookstore. It's well worth seeing, but they don't allow photography.

Ciao caro Donato
What a great daily life scene, and the Houses of Parliament would have to be one of the most spectacular sights in London. Excellent strong colours and contrasts and your photo provides us with a historical document, when we look back to 2000, to the present and the London riots and to the future to the London Olympics. I really wonder what effect this has had and will have on this event.

Nice daily life image...what attracts me most is the view of the the famous parliament building from under the bridge. Light doesn't seem to be great, but the colours are good. perspective is well created and your note, as always, is very informative!

Ciao caro Donato,

I really enjoy this very original photo. Most photographers would not even get the idea to take photo here under the bridge and where only the bottom part of the Houses of the Parliament could be seen, but it was indeed an excellent idea. It is very nice street scene and a bit fascinating that those sold street lamps are still there under the bridge which I believe is one of the Jubilee bridges. I also love all the details to look at. The inclusion of the Houses of the Parliament is great. Nobody could doubt that this is London. Very nice colours and clarity. TFS and have nice evening!

An interesting view along this riverside walk!
And of course with an famous building in the back, which is hard to avoid in central London...
I notice the fine street lamps in this relaxed street view!

The people animate the scene & add scale & context. Good sharpness, color & saturation. I like how youve framed the bg Houses of Parliament & the Thames River with the 2 sandwich layers of the underpass at the bottom & the overhead bridge at the top. Tfs!
