Photographer's Note

Panoramic image of the view from the Ptarmigan Restaurant terrace, the upper terminus for the Cairngorm Mountain Railway, at the top of Cairngorm mountain. Created from 8 images stitched horizontally using Canon Photostitch utility.
The original image is nearly 20k pixels wide and 2600 pixels high. In order to post I had to increase the height of the canvas. That has made the image a little difficult to view. Hopefully the larger version will help in that respect. A couple of the joins are quite noticeable but hopefully don't spoil the view too much.
If you take the train up you are not allowed to walk out onto the mountain. You can only take in the views. If you walk up you can take the train down!
The lake in the centre is Loch Morlich. The smaller one to the left (at one of the obvious joins) is Loch an Eilean; the subject of my previous post.
