Photographer's Note
This beautiful “birdcage” bandstand sits proudly, in the late afternoon sunshine on the seafront in Brighton, England; a wonderful example of Victorian ornate cast iron. Designed by Phillip Lockwood, A Brighton Borough Surveyor, it was built in 1884 and lovingly restored to the original specifications in 2009. It is considered to be one of the finest examples of a Victorian bandstand still surviving in England today.
Can you spot the seagull?
The seagulls are the name of the Brighton & Hove football team.

Hi Brian,
A perfect symmetrical framing, good play of light and shadow that adds another dimension to the picture, as well as depth.
The architecture gives a very good graphic force, and if I got to see the gull, but it has been difficult, is very hidden.
Congratulations
Greetings

Hello Brian
A symmetrical composition seems to be the best choice here, well thought. The low side light are creating very nice shadows along the leading path. Light and colours are excellent managed. Very nice work! Thanks for sharing. Have a nice day.

Bonjour, cher Brian,

Hi Brian
fantastic birdcage.
normally i would say that its too bad you couldn't get the far left and right edges inside the frame, but i like it this way. love the tight framing. and the shadows give it that extra bit of form.
so much detail squeezed into a tiny space.
great shot my friend
cheers

Hi Brian. Wonderfully intricate details of all the lattice work, handrails and fencing, showing the mastery over the wrought-iron. There was a time when functional things were also made with beauty in mind. Lovely perspective, shadows, patterns. Such a rich, yet elegant image.Hopefully there are festive occasions when bands dressed in their finery do actually play the old tunes. Regards. Klaudio.

Hello Brian,
Very good composition, everything in the frame is at the right place and moreover you played nicely with the shadows in foreground to underline the pass to reach the 'birdcage'.

Hallo Brian,
In this photo I do not feel like it comes from England (I mean that as a compliment), but rather one from the Mediterranean Sea.
I like the perspective and composition, but also the
lines of the shadows.
Also the colors and light are very good.
Regards,
Robert

Bonjour Brian,
Tout est plaisant dans cette photo à commencer par la lumière, les ombres portées et enfin le graphisme de dentelle.
