Photographer's Note

Good Morning Eveyone,,

The Leeds to Liverpool Canal traverses the area in which I live. It was a massive feat of engineering begun in the 18th century, with the intention of carrying woollen goods and limestone from Yorkshire to the coast.

A short, but interesting history of the canal can be found by clicking here.

Although the canal fell into disuse in the mid 20th century, today, it has a new lease of life, due to its leisure potential.

Now, there are many house boats and narrow boats using the canal. There are many permanent berths and numerous places for temporary berths, supported by eateries and useful shops.

I have often daydreamed about spending my time on one of these boats, where time passes as slowly as the speed, and the changing scenery links to the changing flora and fauna. Mmmm .....

Although the day was cloudy, there was enough light to create pleasing reflections in the water and, I do like clouds!

Many thanks for stopping by.
Please feel free to feedback on any aspect of the photograph. Bev :-)
