The memory of this shot has haunted me since taking last month's photo of morning sunshine. Unfortunately I did not use maximum resolution, but I hope you can feel the mood of the early sun on a sleeping village after the noisy celebrations of the previous day.
Every year a gala is held here to raise money for the Lifeboat. The whole town and surrounding countryside joins in. You can see a great sequence of stills which a local photographer has put together for YouTube here.
The white-topped masts are on the herring drifter, Reaper, which sails across from the Anstruther Fisheries Museum in Fife every year.
The time was 05:19 GMT, latitude 56.00, longitude -2.51.

Good view of the place, yes, we can feel the mood of the early sun on a sleeping village after celebrations. The decoration in a SMART diagonal at the top of the visual field works very well. Very charming!
Thanks for sharing,

The morning after is always interesting, regardless of what happened the previous night. I like your composition, with lot of verticals, masts and flagpoles, and uneven horizontals created by lines with small triangular flags. You have done very well with the early morning light and long shadows, so even the otherwise very common blue van looks special in your photo. I thought that it would be better without the van, because the view would be open. But maybe it's good it is there - it prevents the very strong red from taking the absolute control over the photo.

A very pleasant street view here with very good colours, even though the resolution is clearly not the best. But this is still an attractive daily life view and a well composed picture.

Hello Winifred ,
A simple view of a simple place ! But i like it . Even the quality is not the best . The composition is excellent with strong contrasted colors . Most of all , you've really well catched the early morning light .

The long shadows reveal the early hour, especially since at a symmetric point shortly before sunset, there would be some people milling about. Wonderful colors during the summer of 2002.
Thanks for the note regarding the telescope. I enjoyed reading your recollections of the brass reflector. A 7" diameter refractor is really quite sizeable. I wonder when it was created.

Yes I can see the pixels - but the image is clear, the colours are bright and natural, and there is a nice mood with the early morning light. Tfs, Marlene
