Just before 9 am one morning, I looked out and saw two dramatic golden patches where the water was reflecting the bridge supports lit by the recently risen sun.
By the time I had got the camera out, the shadow of the buildings had moved and the effect had gone. The next day was cloudy but the day after that was sunny again, and I had the camera ready and the window open at 10 to 9. I watched as the shadow moved, but with the later tide the water level was too low to catch the sun.
Maybe next February! Meantime this will have to do.
Crop, auto levels, contrast and colour in Photoshop, then 5% each of shadow and highlight before downsizing.

Thank you for being so patient and waiting with your camera for the right moment. The golden is here, in your picture, nicely photographed. If it was maybe better and more beautiful the first morning, it makes me happy to know that you have seen it! Thank you for the thought and gift of early sunlight.

An interesting picture and a good note describing the efforts we have to make to catch the right moment. You have caught som fine colours of the reflections in the water here, and those rock formations in the sunlight are really special. Isnīt there a place with more of these formations?

you have managed to capture a nice warm light even if this si not the photograph you had planned. I'm intriqued by the slanted rock formation and not knowing much (well, nothing really!) about geology I wonder what it s called and how it was formed.Life must have extra daily interest for you living in a home overlooking this place. I can imagine the tang of the sea and seaweed.

yues, the work with the light is nice here, anyway the thing more interesting here in my opinion is that interesting volcanic rocks in hexagon shapes, it is told there is a place near my home this way too, but I never visited it. nice job

good capture, nice details, warm and soft light. Maybe I would cut a bit of foreground. Great sharpness.
Nice Week end

The golden light is very beautiful! No need of higher water level - you caught the beautiful light on the reflection, you lit the shadow.
