Trafalgar Square, London with Nelson's Column. London's most famous square was laid out in 1829 to 1841 to commemorate Nelson's victory at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. Dominating the square, on a column that is 185 feet high, is the 17 foot high statue of Nelson himself.

Very nice shot, I like how Nelson is mixed with the light. Well done

I like the monotone effect. Good composition. I may be tempted to try and crop out the bottom bits, which looks like a worksite, including the crane which is a little distracting to me. Still, a good image. Cheers!

Quite surreal - I though this had been taken at night. Almost a fantasy version of London. Top job!

Top shot, Andrew, I like the bit of blueness "defeated" by the coming night over the square. One could imagine Jack the Ripper waiting for his hour in a dark alley nearby! Brrrr..... :-)

This is great, the mood reminds me of scenes from the film moulin rouge. I also like the way that Nelson is just above the lightsource, not in it. Cracking!

A great moody shot of a familiar square, the different hues of grey also add to the atmosphere.

Dear Andrew
Do you realize that your images have soul.
I'll explain : I don't care anymore if this is a Trafalgar Square. IT IS NOT a Trafalgar Square.
IT IS YOUR image of Trafalgar Square.
Because If I want to see a Trafalgar Square, or Coliseum, or Eiffel Tower I go to the archives of that place, or...flip thru thousands of images of buildings, windows, doors (and God only knows what else)existing on the pages of TrekEarth.
Only very few of them have soul (means: The sole purpose of being uploaded to this portal).
Another sample...but wait...I better go there and write about the other photogram of yours (It's a Moscow image).
Regards
George

Hi Andrew,
you have waited for a very nice moment here to capture one of the central places of London...i partuculary like the "against the sun" apporach and the dramatic effect the low floating clouds give to your almost symmetrical composition...i would maybe crop the bottom slightly to avoid having them restoration work signs present in this image...cheers, arturo

Аплодирую стоя! Мне кажется, в Фотошопе сделано не очень много, основную работу взял на себя поляризационный фильтр, так?
Нет, красота неописуемая, чессло!

Hi Andrew
Belle prise de vue axiale de cette célèbre place Londonienne.
Les nuages jouent un rôle important dans la qualité de ta photo; dommage qu'elle soit si petite.
Bravo
Jacques
