[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
My 1st post for a long time, as I'm Busy on a project at the moment, is a shot of the famous cast iron bridge across the river Severn in Shropshire, designed and built by Abraham Darby in 1776 (I think)and which gave the name to both the town and the area (Ironbridge Gorge)which is a world heritage site.

wow 10.5 mm
thats really wide . is it a fisheye???
but i guess on your camera it is equivalent to about 17 mm is it?
you have a wonderful tone here richard.
the pattern youve got here is really nice too
what i also like here is the white house and the peculiar glow to it. makes this all seem like a dream
take care :)

p.s. is your project anything related to photography???

Fascinating I say!

Looks to me as though it is a part in a movie from Transylvania or such. Most enjoyable.

hello Richard

amazing picture and woooow wild angle
i like your composition and PS

This is great Richard. The point of view and very wide angle lens (10.5mm!!!)has created a very abstract shot. I love all the different angles all curving towards the underside of the road. As usual superb B&W tones.
Sounds like a fascinating commission you have. You will have to let us know when the book is completed - I would be very interested in having a look.

Hi Richard!
Nice to see you back again!
This is a bit different from your other shots, but I like it anyway :)
Nice compo and wide perspective. Excellent details and tones. The white house in the background makes a good contrast and a focus point beyond the sharp bridge. Nice effect!
Good work here!

(my first critique in a long time - work has been a bear...)

Neat shot. I like how the wide angle lens distorts the background and makes the house look like it's in a diorama or in a fishbowl, yet the foreground iron has a lot of great detail and form. It really makes you feel like you're inside the bridge.

Ken

a great looking shot. the extreme wide angle gives the steel structure an almost dome like quality. the background looks a bit too "slick", but overall a great b&w.
well done richard!

Good to see you back Richard! You didn't lose your style and ability of taking extraordinary b&w shots, as I see...
I love this tack sharp iron at the foreground, and softy look of background. White building gives nice contrast here.
Well done! Waiting for more!

What a construction with all these pillars and iron works and you've made a very artwork in B/W (of course...).
An abstract scene how you show this, Richard, nice seen and done !

great shot richard i like the absurdic situation you can catch with a fisheye... the background is soo soft and blurred while the cold metal (great details!!!) construction is sharp and full of contrast... great work in pp aswell as useual thumbs up!!!

Never let us down with thos epics Richard i have not been on for a while awaiting delivery of my new bit of kit nikon d70,regards Nick from Newcastle, love the detail one the photos really stand out as per,you always get my marks only wish it could me more,Happy New Year Richard!!!!

Waouww, fantastic picture. The dof is perfetc and keep the background on a "mist". I can say anything, just taht this picture is one of my favourite now.

Nice shot Richard!

I like the fisheye feeling of the shot, great detail in the cast iron bridge. But the dream like effect you achieved with the background is superb. As always Richard, great work!

Miss your postings mate, hope to see you back on here soon!
Cheers,
- Dan

Very nice, Richard. What captures my attention most is the simple geometry of this image. There are lines going everywhere and my mind loves to make sense out of it all. Lovely clarity and fantastic tones, as usual!

Love the black and white you did with it.

That bridge brings back memories, I used to live there and only moved from Ironbridge a year ago, but its the best place ever.
