Photographer’s Note

Here you see "Ile Au Gerdain" situated in Portelet Bay. Because of the daily ebbtide and hightide, everyday this is an island for a few hours then surrounded by the sea. The other hours you can walk to the little tower

Nice POV, good cropping and fine composition, Hans!
Colours are natural and well saturated and the details of rocks on the Ile and the rest of the coast are amazing.
Tfs this little beauty!

nice picture and POV, i like this and the description, there is an island like this on the Northumberland coast called Lindesfarne which for so many hours aday you can drive to, but if you dont get back in til you are stranded as the sea comes in! nice picture and the colours look very medditerrainian..(spelt wrong i know) it does not look like somewhere that is "considered" UK

Dit is een mooie Hans, de Engelse kunstlijn is totaal anders dan bij ons, hier zijn alle elementen aanwezig, veel groen op de voorgrond, een mini eiland, en de klippen op de achtergrond met een waaier aan mooie kleuren, de diepte doet het goed, en het water heeft natuurlijke kleur.

Good composition, nice trees in the foreground, and the background providing more interest with the dark channel cut into the shoreline. Great colours everywhere, and a nice note too.

As you know, this is the kind of view that I like, Hans. A beautiful color palette with this array of greens, blues and browns, and of course a well-composed shot having the island with the small tower well situated in the frame. The crisp and natural look is great on this one.

I like the tourquise color of the water, Hans. a very well composed photo with many nice elements - the island, the FG trees, the BK hill, the foamy waves and the water in and between. Well lit and captured.

Merci pour cette très belle vue de cet îlot qui se dégage à marée basse (si j'ai bien compris) ; il existe une petite tour sur la partie haute, a-t-elle ou avait-elle une fonction particulière ?
Très bonne composition, l'île est placée sur un point fort et dynamise l'ensemble.
Les couleurs sont parfaitement restituées. Je remarque une étrange excavation dans la roche à droite de l'îlot.

Very appealing seascape with a difference. The point of view is from a headland of cliff where we are looking towards the shore, which is usually different to what you normally see in a seascape. Also the rocky cliffs and the little island with the tower make a focal point that is very attractive. Good composition.

Fine composition, Hans. Warm rock colors contrast well with the see. The reef covered with surf sets an accent to the surrounding water. Rich on details.

Hi Hans, I like the point of view on this more or less island too, light is good and reveals nice details and colors, among which I like the well marked contrasts between water and rock colors.

I never would have imagined such landscapes in United Kingdom. Colors are wonderful. And the transparency of the water !.. almost a Southern coast.. Gorgeous.

Excellent POV on this beautiful place, Hans! Colors of the ocean and rocks are beautiful. The view is well-framed to highlight the isle and its tower. And I love your note about the tide and the alternation between isle and peninsula (The different layers on the rock allows to confirm it). I imagine somebody asleep during a nice sunny day and its bewilderment on waking, lonely, surrounded by the sea on its little piece of land...;-) Very well seen, Hans!

I really like the colours here, very natural and well saturated. The water is wonderful.
Good composition and POV. You have great clarity in the whole image and I love the details and textures of the cliffs and waves -perfect with no sign of oversharpening.

The quality of the seawater you captured Hans, is what is so striking, making it so overwhelming and a subject by itself. It also drowns the attention, the island is trying hard to get. But altogether, this is a saturated ,colorful and strong relief for this cove/little bay.

Pretty landscape which resembles to the Armor Coast.
