Photographer’s Note

This shot was more of an accident really! I was actually on the way to another location but i was running about 5 minutes late, and then suddenly to my left i could see this purple/orange light, i looked across and the valley was filled with mist, and the mist was being lit by the colours of the sky which was a mixture of blue above me and orange in front of me, so the mist turned an AMAZING purple colour!
I ended up not bothering with the original loaction that i had planned to visit!

I used an ND8 Graduated filter

It definitely is amazing and beautiful at the same time. The orange sky contrasts so well too. I guess some of the best photos arrive when you least expect them too.

Hi Jamie,
Good choice to stop here. The view is beautiful with a very nice effect due to the fog and the silhouettes of the trees standing in it.
Nicely colored sky and a nice bit of coloring effect on the fog as well.
