Photographer’s Note
Another photo I took on our walk along the Southwest Coast Path from Mevagissey to Gorran Haven. You can see Gorran Haven if you peer through the wildflower curtain, but this shot is for the flowers. For a more conventional view of Gorran Haven have a look in the WS.
With its origins in the 13th century, Gorran Haven is a picturesque fishing village set into a secluded cove on Cornwall‘s south coast. It is popular with families for its two sandy beaches and safe water for swimming.
I put the map coordinates in for Gorran Haven itself as I haven't much of a clue where I was standing. Obviously it was just along the coast. If you move the map around you will find Mevagissey where we started walking and also Chapel Point of my previous post. (link above) A couple of people have asked about the map link. It's on the right of the note with the 'Photo information' in case you haven't found it yet.
It's the first post of Gorran Haven on TE

Hi Kath
Nice little flowers that add color to the view, even though they obstruate it quite a bit, but I think the low pov was deliberate here
Have a nice day JY

Hi Kath,
another lovely part of the Cornish coastline. I think the flowers are a beautiful frame for the small village. The low POV was a great choice.

Hi Kath,
Are those flowers so tall or were you lying on grass? The way they are reaching towards sunshine looks very nice. Real summer feeling on open English coastline.

Hi Kath,
Today we received these fresh field flowers as a gift! Very good POV, we can see much of the coast and the beaches through the curtain of flowers. The colors are great, nice composition.

Hi Kath
Wildflowers are often taken for granted but they can make for a nice image as is this one. Good DOF and the exposure is spot on.

Hello kath
The point of vieew on WS is nice too but colours are not that natural in the ws (too saturated ?). Anyway this one is very pleasant due to flowers.

Hello Kath,

Hello Kath -
A very nice spring time scene with the FG and BG both in focus and holding a lot of detail. Getting down in the wildflowers for a different perspective can provide some interesting POV's. The important thing is to define you focus point and make sure everything works together. I like this especially the tall flowers on the left hiding the headland in the BG. Well done!
Thank you for sharing.

Bonjour Kath,
cette photo est toute simple, un peu comme une carte postale de cet endroit qui a toute la magie de la campagne maritime. Des couleurs très naturels qui laissent intact, le rendu de la scène.
j'aime beaucoup.

Hi Kath,
What a wonderful wildflower photo! It is very impressive in all respects. It is not always easy to take photos of flowers. The composition is superb with some flowers a little higer and closer to the left than to the right. The DOF is exceptional where get a very good idea what the place looks like since you could clearly see the bay and Gorran Haven behind the flowers. Very often you do not know when you say that the light management is very good if it really is or if it is the result of post editing. However, here I could see that your light management was very good. Here the sky in the background is clear, but the flowers are not sunlit or in strong lighting. This is very good since flowers and leaves could easily become overexposed in strong lighting. TFS and have a nice day!
Cheers,
Ulf

Hello Kath! Ohhh, this IS lovely, thank you for the flowers! The treat of a summer or spring day, after many dark nights and cold days. Really pretty, what a fantastic foreground! Great to see some sea water in the back, what a beautiful blue that goes so well with all the flowers. Fantastic picture, it warms our hearts. Have a wonderful afternoon, Barbara.

Hello Kath,
These wild flowers in foreground are a great welcome for the beautiful landscape that we see in this so clean and deep image.
The blue sky and such a clear day are a good complement to this elegant composition, very well executed technically.

Hello Kath
First post of a place from England! But I remember you had other firsts (post of a place) as well to your credit earlier! Quite an unconventional view...the low POV works well here. But I do admire the beauty of the place in the WS & was left wondering!...which is better, this or the WS!

Ooh, Lovely.
While I like the conventional view of Gorran Haven, thanks for the WS, but I love this one also show casing the nature surrounding the area, especially in such beuatiful time of year and beuatiful light. Great shot Kath, I love the colors so cheerful and so lively, make me want to be out for a walk too, but it too warm now and all flowers are long gone. Happy weekend.

Hello Kath,
When I was a kid I associated clover fields with high summer, well I still do I guess..!
The low point of view makes the rest of landscape background for the wild flowers, fine natural colours and the scent is in the air...

Hi Kath, great POV on this one, it's almost like we are hiding in the undergrowth and sneaking a peep at the town below. Lovely colours and composition. I remember the name Gorren Haven as it is where the writer Colin Wilson lives - I was really into his books in my teens and early 20's.

Hello Kath,
Now, this is my sort of a shot!
I love to see a low pov where the grasses or the flowers make a strong f/g impact. It is lovely to peep at the sea, the rolling hills and the little port through the web of pink thrift.
Great dof.
Have a good day,

Hello Kath.
Thrift and scabious and a distant view of Gorran Haven where I spent so many family holidays in the 1950s! You bring back wonderful memories but you've also created a superb image that epitomises the charm of the south coast of Cornwall. Exceptional composition, light, colors and sharpness.
I'm very late in finding this treasure -- going back through the archives after an absence -- and delighted with it. Very fine work!
Best regards,
Mary
