Photographer’s Note
This is a view of Morecambe Bay with the village of Bardsea in the foreground. The tides in this area are very unforegiving & on the 5 February 2004 21 Chinese cockle pickers drowned & a 22nd survived, although this disaster happened further round the penninsular, the tides are very unpredictable if you do not know these waters & the sea comes in faster than a person can run.

Hello Wilson!
Beautiful place, beautiful landscape photography! Great composition and framing, great light managment and beautiful colours! The only "problem" that I notice is a "tilt" of the horizon to the right, but you can fix it easily in PS.

Beautiful country scenery with a warm contrasting colors and well-defined linearity. I just recently bought this same lens you used and am excited to try it out.
Sad story behind it, though. I lived in Hawaii for a few years, and one learned never to turn his back on the ocean--it can come and bite big time.

Hi Wilson,
When I read Morecambe Bay I wondered why it sounded so familiar by when I read the rest of your note I understand why. I certainly remember this disaster. When you see your lovely and really well-composed picuture you have difficulties to understand that it was here it happened. It looks very peaceful and calm. Really good photo.job and intesting note. TFS and have nice weekend!

Hi, Wilson. the village is beautifully nestled at the bottom of the hill. The nice colours of the village stand well out against the sands of Morecambe Bay. I find the background a bit noisy. I think you had enough light here to lower the ISO value to 200 or even 100, which would have reduced the noise in the sky.
Have a nice evening,
Philippe

Hello Wilson,
An amazing place with the huge sandbank left by the ebb tide!
Obviously this village is not a fishing village as the conditions don't seem to be the best to harbour boats...
I remember that terrible accident you mention in your note!

What a unique composition with the small village outlined with ribbons of color. The peaceful scene doesn't look at all like a disaster zone; I can see how people could be caught by surprise.

Hello Wilson
I found the presentation of this village with its surroundings very attractive...the green grass makes for a good starting point and leads us into the landscape. I like those colored layers and to look at the hills fading in the far. It looks like it is slightly tilted to the right...or is the landscape that way?
Cheers

Hi Wilson,
I like the contrast and color palette that you have captured in this image, though I have to point out the capital sins (at least in my mind) that you have committed: 1) your horizon line is not straight, and, 2) the sky have noise.
Tricky things to point because the perspective seems to create the illusion of the image been tilted, but like my old teachers use to say: in those cases you have to go for the optical reference. The noise could have been caused by the JPEG compression, but software like NoiseNinja and others do a great job bringing the file size down keeping the quality of the image.

Hi Wilson,
The point of view is allowing us to see the deatils and colors of the village. It is also taking our eyes toward the mountains in the background which is giving depth to the photo. The divisions of the composition are good. The quality of the light is enhancing the colors of the scenery. Have a nice day.

Hi Wilson,
It's a very scenic view, with which you made a catchy compo that makes clever use of the pattern created by the graphics and colours of the landscape. The greens make a beautiful contrast with the sand and the village reminds a a miniature park inside a well cared garden.
It's not really a fault, but I feel like I am seeing the right part of a great panorama, as the image seems to continue on the left.
The haze on the BG is a bit grainy and noisy, but that is hadly avoidable.
Regards, José.

Bonjour Wilson,
un écrin de verdure entoure ce petit village bien cadré sur la photo. Une note bien interessante explique les dangers des marées là-bas, il faut toujours se méfier de ces zones même si elles incitent à des longues balades.
Une bonne profondeur d'image.
Excellent week-end

Hello Wilson, I found your note interesting it raised a couple of questions, is it legal to pick the cockles here, commercial pickers or sightseers? where are they picking them, is it visible in this scene? it looks so tranquil & harmless. Lovely landscape, nice colours, a very beautiful village with it's mandatory church, does it have at least one pub. ;-).
Thanks
Cheers
