Photographer’s Note

Another photo taken from the same area as my last posting, with the view looking across Gresmere,
Grasmere is a charming village right in the heart of the Lake District National Park in Cumbria, England. Within easy reach are the honeypot towns of Ambleside, Keswick, Hawkshead, Coniston, Bowness and Windermere.
Grasmere lake lies to the south of the village around which there are some gentle walks for those that prefer the lower ground. For those that prefer a greater challenge, in Grasmere you're centrally situated for taking on the craggy peaks of the Scafell Pikes, Helvellyn, Skiddaw and the Langdale Pikes.
Grasmere was once the home of the famous poet William Wordsworth; today you can visit two of his former homes - Dove Cottage and Rydal Mount. Also in the centre of Grasmere is St. Oswalds Church, the churchyard of which contains the Wordsworth family graves.

Very nice and calm scenery, very well captured. Good pov and soft nice light and soft colors. Good geometry of the picture and good and interesting notes.

Hi Wilson,
even if weather wasn´t too good here you managed to get a wonderful image! The boats in the foreground look great and same goes for the ducks on the right hand side, which is a great detail. Looks like a typical Britain landscape, very nice!

A wonderfully moody image, so typical of the Lake District. You've done well to hold the detail in the cloud. The boats provide good, bright foreground interest, whilst the white building in the background still draws the eye into the picture.

I like the scenery, it brings a nice peaceful mood inside with those boats in front. Strange names they have ;-)
Light was not your best friend here, it could use some sunshine or an extra boost on the colour saturation, but the scenery it self is really nice. Never been there, but the place looks very inviting...

Hello Wilson,

A very pleasant view full of serenity, of peacefull. The colours of the three boats in the Fg arise very well. These boats in the FG give a great prospect to the hill in the BG. Composition well balanced in differents plans. The two ducks give an interetsing element of life.

Your latest was excellent, this one in my opinion is even better. Once again you made great use of the available light and carefully built up another lovely composition. It all looks extremely well balanced, with those brilliant colors upfront counteracted by the green in the distance to provide great depth of field and overall visual interest. Good job! Hi, Wilson. Thanks for the dedication. It makes me blush. Ad yes, this is really what I was thinking of when I commented on your last picture. The boats offer a good colourful foreground giving a good depth to the image and contrast well with the dark water and the fells. Very nice scenery.

Hi Wilson.
A lovely lakeside scene in late winter/early spring light. The white house on the slope behind and the ducks' ripples provide the highlights in this tranquil setting. The coloured boats are obviously for hire, and the water looks still enough for even a novice rower. The photo has a good sense of depth. Nicely done, and good note.

Hi Wilson,

The reflections in the water are assets to the composition. The point of view takes our eyes toward the house in the background which is giving depth to the photo. The cloudy sky has a special effect on the colors of the scenery. have a nice day.

Very nice point of view over this small lake. The water looks a bit grey due to the cloudy sky, yet the small rowing boats show more happy colors.

I almost missed this one. It's a very attractive view, in a much subtle way, because it's everything but stunning. It perspires an amazing sense of peace. I find it extremely well composed, taking good profit of the colour punch of the boats, the tranquillity evoked by the ducks and the discreet but great visual harmony. I bet that with such apparently boring light, which actually looks beautiful in the photo, most of us wouldn't be able to get anything worth.

Oh my, Wilson,
this is just as nice as the last one from here. Perfectly composed with those three colorful boats at the pier contrasting with the more subdued colors all around. I love the way the eye goes from the boats across the water and up those great hills. The white structure is a nice drawing point, too and the balance is wonderful. Great shot!!
