"... She has been waiting for her son to get off the train for a short leave from the front, only.........he isn't there! The disappointment will soon turn to anguish..."

Taken during the Wartime Weekend in Pickering.

Great portrait with a fantastic DOF. All of her facial features are sharp whereas the background is blurry. B/w works well here since it puts a focus on the contrasts and brings out her face much more in my opinion.

At 200mm lens, it is a perfect portrait. The sharpness is remarkably good and the B&W is fantastic. Well done.

Another fine portrait from the past, Robi. She's definately trying to understand something that is beyond her comprehension. Amazing the size of her neck too big for her face.

if only not that death figure behind her - changing the story about people into a story about dead...
