About Castle Combe..
Once called the prettiest village in England, Castle Combe is still one of the prettiest villages to visit in England.
Situated on the southern edge of the Cotswolds in a valley, Castle Combe found its wealth in the wool trade with the villages picturesque river 'ByBrook' powering the mills.
Most buildings are made of the typical Cotswold limestone ;

Lovely photo. Has alot of olde world charm atmosphere.

I like the composition and the prespective.Very good textures, light and sharpness.Good POV and DOF.I like the colors and the contrast between them.Good job!

Jean Michel, I am here in real fairy tale country, very beautiful houses with really colours, excellent depth nice composition, a pity for the white sky, but your photograph is a very large work, England has very beautiful places.
Thanks for visiting my photograph.

It reminds me my series with title of "An Old Village ..." which I posted before and I would like to continue that in future,...I love this atmosphere in this shot, with a hazy/foggy weather in top of the hill, very well captured and perspective is good, well composed,Jean Michel.
good info about castle and this village,Thanks.

Indeed a pretty village! Good morning atmosphere with the mist in the background. You have nice buildings along the street. I would prefer if the people were not there and would suggest cloning them out. Not sure how old this village is (but it looks a bit old) with the signs on the right and the modern road it can be an addition to the scav hunt.

Sylvie

Good photo!
I love the medieval look. The street leading you to the people is very good.
Talking about exposure, I think you did a wise choice. The dark shadows on the houses give a old look to them, and the sky is not too white, which is good.
Great thinking!

For sure this must be worthwile to visit as you show us with a good clear photo how beatifull it must be there even with misty wheater.

Merci Jean-Michel.

England indeed, the weather and the houses, nice seen, good point of view going in this street, some disturbing details, but ni point, it's a nice shot !
And now you're MY favourite here !

I liked your photo a lot. In fact, it represents very well the atmosphere of this place, a beautiful village that I was glad to visit few years ago.

Very nice architectural view. The colours are very soothing. The inclusion of the persons give the referance frame.
Well done.

Bonne ambiance, petit dépaysement, bon cadrage... On y est presque...

Salut Jean Michel,

I've spent many a happy hour in Castle Combe as a child watching the trout swimming from the bridge. This photograph brings back so many memories. I like this POV with the street running down and away from us. Difficult to manage the sky in those conditions but a wonderful capture all the same.

Cordialement

Stephen
