Photographer’s Note
Tough soldier, this time from the US, but could be as well from Poland or Canada or... we all like them, and they know who they are as well as we know... don't we?
;-D
... memories are coming back fast from what I can see and the gallery is getting fuller each day... one way or another. Good!
An event held annually in Pickering, when we all remember the WWII, as seen in my previous posts.
Another Wartime Weekend extravaganza... just for your pleasure!

100 % agree with Polonaise...
Superb face of a soldier.
He could be russian, too ;))).
This proudness, this expression !
Beautiful and unique.
Best regards. Grazyna.

looks like polish as a language is conquering the islands...:-))
everything has already been said about this photo but what i personally like most is that oldfashioned style of the portrait, as if indeed taken 50 years ago... fits the bill perfectly...

Hello Robert,
An interesting portrait.
I like the man attitude, even if it is a rough attitude.
Have a nice day,
JB.

Hello Robert,
Nice portrait, the man face expression is very good looking a kind of sad and fierce combination. Is eyes however don´t seem to match the face but kind of remembering something... or someone...
Good work, Regards,
Daniel

I think he's the only one in this series who doesn't look joyful, although his serious expression better fits the situation - or the situation as it was in 1943. Funnily enough my Mum was a teenager through the war years and she often said there were happy times in there.

I wonder about the grain. I assume you added for a bit more of nostalgic effect. Anyway, this another great b&w portrait. Totally tough soldier - he could be Jack Nicholson that later said in court "You can't handle the truth!".
cheers,
ric
