Photographer’s Note
... continuation from previous posts...
Every Year in October, for one special weekend, Pickering is transformed into a 1940s wartime scene, complete with parades, shows and ‘Evacuee Specials’ on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.
Do you miss George Grabarczyk - Polonaise, and his photos?

light on her face, focus on her face, placement of her face in the frame... professionally captured, her expression is so real that I am almost infected...

really cool shot, I like the sincere way this woman laughs. B&W makes it seem like an old photo, great atmosphere.

Oh, excellent ! So close... I can hear her laugh, maybe I can smell her perfume too... Great PP, with emphasis on her face and everything else darker. Splendid !
And of course, I do miss Polonaise and his photos - like Jan says, what to add ? It's up to him, I don't know if he feels like investing much in this site after what happened, it was a huge blow. But who knows ? He is a fighter...
Best wishes for 2009 !
Cath.

Hello Robi! She is having a really good time, enjoying the company she brought with her, she is probably loud but in a good way, someone that stands in her life and knows what she wants. Something like that :))) She is great, what a huge smile, what a funny little hat, I should have one of those ... LOL ... Happy New Year, Robi, and thank you so so much for your wonderful comments. It was like Christmas!!! Barbara.
PS. He is back, I can see his comment!!! What a strange thing this was, I never fully understood. So many times I have opened his photos and they made me smile but I guess a lot of people are scared of people like George. He says things reflecting their boring little lives and they rather do not want to know.

Olá Robi, perhaps the best of the series. Just love the b&w treatment, the way she shines so brightly against the darkened BG. It's funny to see all laughs side by side making a cheerful and indeed contagious series. It's going to be the longest theme ever in TE...
All the best for 2009.
cheers,
ric

Man, all your B&W portraits from England are amazing. I have been living in this country for just over 3 years, and travel to Asia and so on to find inspiration for good photos – your website proves that with enough skill, England can be just as inspiring.. Your photos are flawless technically, and I love the stories that go with them, too.
