Photographer’s Note
On what's a mainly rainy misty day in the English Lakes yesterday, a rare shaft of sunlight appeared just as the Steamer went past on its way to Pooley Bridge.

Nice shot Richard - The combination of the boat and the farm land gives this a real sense of place. The bright red of the steamer smoke stack is great too, because it draws attention there and makes the rest of the photo look more green and blue by the contrast. Well done!

Hello Richard,
an original composition. What I like best about this photo is the juxtaposition of the white and green steamer at the bottom and the long low white building at the top!
The dark grey sky looks rather threatening, though...
best wishes,

Hi Richard,
Great view on that light, high hillside with those old buildings look really nice. That oversized chimney looks funny in bright red.
Those short sunny moments are really precious. So far we haven't had any in December...

Hi Richard & Merry Xmas!
Good fg sharpness on the steamer, with attractive colours & I like the flattened perspective from the zoom. The low water horizon works well here. Excellent framing & contrast. Tfs!
