Photographer’s Note
The awful summer of 2007 continues. This was the scene on the Heritage Coast when yet another Atlantic storm begins to roll in. I was surprised how cold and windy it was. The rough seas and light rain caused spotting and salt grains on the polariser during the exposure and a wave soaked me as I turned to walk away. Perhaps next time I'll use a telephoto.

Certainly a very good one, with a lot of technics and the quality of colors.
Nice place.
Well seen

Hi Gerwyn,
I knew I should have driven to Ogmore!!! Wonderful sky and you're right - it probably is the same cloud formations I shot over in the Cotswolds. Really great energy you captured in this shot. The turbulence in the waves is mirrored in the cloud formations. By the way it is good to see you're out with the camera again.
I'm a tad jealous :)
Cheers!

Hi Gerwyn, what a great shot! The colours in the sky are fantastic, and the shutter speed is just right give an impression of the power of the waves without blurring them out too much. Did you use a grad filter as well as the polariser?
Cheers,
Colin.

well done gerwyn ,this is a beauty, the exposure time was perfect, shows the sea at its best with the waves tossing and turning ,the light on the rocks is also lovely and that sky really makes the scene.
good to see you back

Gerwyn,
Outstanding shot! Your long exposure was perfect here giving the water a sense of power while bringing out the great colors in the sky. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and DOF.

Beautiful light. I like the slow shutter speed that turned breaking waves into a sort of smoke

Gerwyn,
So, you are getting out - and you can't really complain about the weather when it's responsible for shots like this - can you?

Exposure time here was just right - waves are blurred a bit, but it's clearly visible that photo was taken during the storm.
Nice, saturated color of the sky as well.
