Photographer’s Note
Yet another one from my local beach. I need a higher grad filter for this work.

Very nice composition. You've done well with this shot no matter the filter. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful soft and smooth colors. The rocks in the foreground lead the eyes into the water and pretty sunset. Your use of light and the details of the compo are excellent. This place is almost magical. Very restful and peaceful atmosphere you catched here. Nice work.

Hi Jeff,
I think it is the dark rocks at the foreground that has created most telling impact to this snap.We move from the black rocks to the vast water and then to the wonderful colors of the amazing sky.Pleanty of vacant space gives vastness to this snap.Colour saturation i sreally great...no matter the filter u used.Excellent exposed snap.Great compo.

Wanted to revisit the pic I criticized yesterday but couldn't find it. So, I took a tour through your very impressive gallery instead. Tons of good stuff. But this one is my favorite.
The colours are impressive, well exposed and the calm sea and sky makes for an atmospheric image in its own right. But the star of the show is, in my view the, pebbles or rocks (I'll return to this) which make up the foreground. The partial illumination of the round shapes makes for a great contrast to the straight lines which make up the upper part of the image. And the dark bottom part complements the vividly coloured upper part. I like that it is not immediately clear whether the stones are big or small. I'm guessing the latter due to the slight clue provided by the DOF. So, you must have placed the cam more or less one the ground. Anyways, the fact that the size of the stones is not immediately clear generates a sort of 'visual vertigo'. I can go back and forth between two scales - so to speak. This makes for an interesting effect beyond the, obvious, gorgeous qualities of the image.
A fav for me,
Mikkel
