Siesta with a view Photo

Photographer’s Note

The bay of Rhossili was the first British site to be designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and I can confirm you that it well deserves it.
When arriving in the very small village of Rhossili, you can't expect the extraordinary view offered just behind the National Trust cottages.
The cliffs fall sharply in the Rhossili bay and its 5 kms sandy beach.
Just behind the beach, the dune turns into a little mountain: Rhossili Down (193m).
I like the combination of colours with the green grass, yellow sand and blue sky and sea.

Une photo un peu atypique dans l univers TE car en regardant la vignette dans le thumbnail de la galerie, on ne voit pas vraiment ces 2 siestards bien installés. On ouvre la photo, surtout pour la belle lumiere et la composition mettant en valeur la courbe de la plage.
D un autre coté, ca fournit le petit plus, la surprise de l ouverture. Un bien bel endroit en tout cas,

This is a great view of this beautiful beach. Your composition is fine showing the cliff and people in the foreground with the curving beach leading the eye through the shot. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail.

Salut Estelle! What an exciting overlook and this beach is fantastic although I can see quite a few people down there, neverthelss it is nothing compared to the beaches in the South, I guess the water is too cold in Wales :) I like the wide view you give us and that you have the people in your foregrond relaxing in the grass. Tiens, ça me rappelle quelque chose cette vue ! Le paysage se passe de commentaires, c'est une des plus belles vues du Pays de Galles à mon avis. De belles couleurs, un bon cadrage, du beau travail. Je trouve quand même que ça manque de netteté. Ca vient de l'appareil ou tu as un peu forcé sur le post processing ?

très joli paysage. A titre purement personnel, je trouve dommage de ne pas avoir pu occulter ce couple de rosbeef en plein cuisson (elle était facile, j'ai un peu honte), mais c'est surement un choix délibéré... Sinon, je suis épaté par le nombre de personnes dans l'eau. On se plaint de la température de l'eau en Bretagne, mais là, ça doit aussi être quelquechose... Tu t'es baigné? :p

This point of view is well picked to show the amazing curvy shoreline, which is emphasised by the surf rolling in!
A balanced composition with good lines and a fine feeling of depth and lovely colours...
The tiny people down there give a good idea about the scale!

Je me souviens de quelques séjours personnels dans le sud de l'Angleterre. Je crois n'avoir jamais revu depuis de couleurs plus saturées en bord de mer. J'aurais très envie de me joindre au deux personnes couchées au soleil.
La composition de ton image est réussie.

This one is also not bad, but i think i prefer your latest one which has a stronger curve and that couple in front draws more the attention. Here the perspective depth on the right is a very strong key in this image, i like that. A great place to be and very photogenic...wonderful.

Bonjour Estelle,
Je vois encore une image pour nous donner envie de venir a la plage au Youka, joli point de vue qui domine un beau paysage ou cette courbe retient l'oeil, tes hautes lumieres ne sont pas ici grillees comme dans la photo precedente et de ce fait n'attirent pas l'oeil ce qui permet d'admirer le reste.
