Bridge
Llangynidr, Powys, UK
Llangynidr Bridge and a small crowd, locals and those passing through, parking up and wandering onto the bridge to observe the unusually high waters of the River Usk this evening.
Actually, as I remarked to Philippe, it would be nice to imagine that these folk are really a choir, holing their little hymn sheets, and singing for the river's favour!
Unwisely, hand-held 1/3 second - too lazy to get the tripod out! ;(

Hi, Colin. A great shot. I like how the bridge wall leads us into the picture towards the group of people standing there and making pictures - I think. I also like the contrast between the brown water and the green of the leaves and grass.
Have a nice evening,
Philippe

Hi Colin,
a wonderful shot! Handheld 1/3 of a second, wow! Okay, with a tripod it would be even sharper, but this is already very sharp. The shutter speed of 1/3 gave you a wonderful movement effect on the water. Great colors and nice wide angle due to the 10-20mm lens. Very nice, great shot!
Take care

Hello Colin
Excellent perspective with the bridge leading our eyes into the image. I love the soft reddish water down below, very silky and complimenting to the green trees and neutral toned bridge. Lovely shot Colin and very simple. I like the FAT (excuse the expression) border also.

Hello, Colin,
you lazy fellow..:))) I can't imagine how much better it might have been had you used a tripod. LOL Unbelievable sharpness and detail for handheld that long. I love those colors, too. The wall leads in beautifully and I like the green leaves in contrast to the brown, fast slowing water. Well done!! (oh - and I hate dragging out tripods, too) Many thanks and warmest regards,
Shelly

Hi Colin,
You've cracked it for a great shot. The bridge looks terrific and the flat light gives the shot a lovely soft look.
I like the lighter patch you've put through the foreground tree, water and people, very creative. It works well in lifting the dynamics of the image.
Hand held eh, you've got the hands of a brain surgeon.
Superb image.

Hello Colin! What a relief :) another one that is too lazy for a tripod and the thing rather rests in the car or at home. But I also know that it would help in many ways and now that I have a brand new one that I got for my birthday in March I should use it. Lazy me! With or without, this is a great shot in many ways. I like the grey stone of the bridge and how you lead our eyes over to the little group taking photos too and how you smoothened the brown water, calmed it down and last but not least the fresh green that hangs there, yeah not the desert but another great scenery that I like a lot. Excellent! Enjoy your weekend, and yes it is going to rain, I can see the dark clouds approaching fast. Barbara.

Hello Colin. Many of your photos are small masterpieces. Also this artistic picture belongs to these worth seeing motives . Very beautifully. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Hello Colin,
It reminded me of the colour of water after the rains.
The right and left halves look totally different, which is interesting.

Even though not your typical Hieatt, I really like this image due to its colors. The neon green foilage (not overlapping with the bridge but echoed by sprinkles on the bridge and the upper right corner) against the red-brown river water, and these two small patches of pure red. Plus an almost Parr'ish tourist situation. What do you want more?
For web-porposes it looks sharp enough, and at least in my case the situation would long have been gone before being ready with the tripod.
