Photographer’s Note
Under the Volcano
River Usk, Llangynidr, Powys, UK
Another shot from a recent early morning amble along the banks of the River Usk, close to home. An opportunity to relax and play with photography, to explore other perspectives in a way which is sometimes forgotten when we feel under pressure.
Hidden Canyon is another shot from this little excursion.

Hello Colin -
Playing with reflections and perspectives when you have a chance is a good way to sharpen technical skills and recognize alternate compositions when you are on a tight schedule. This one takes some thought on how to interpret the image. I think it was a good exercise for both of us and hopefully both of us learned something from the exercise. Well seen, presented, and executed.
Thank you for sharing.

Hi Colin,
Interesting way to present this image, when I first saw the thumbnail, I thought perhaps you were looking at the scenery through a dirt window.
Look at all this pebbles floating in the sky, I must be high. Technically all is just fine as always. Thanks

Hello Colin,
This beautiful view makes me think of a Japanese painting at first sight. Well seen and well executed.

Hello Colin. Another interesting nature photo. A part is under the water, another part up. Everything works very aesthetically. It is again a photographic work of art worth seeing. Best regards, Wolfgang.

I like all the layers in this image and putting it onto its head was a good idea.

i like the abstractness in the orientation and how I feel like i've almost fallen over and am looking up. The varying textures within the image really do give thatr 3d effect. Very well done. :)

Hello Colin! Have you "landed" in Basel, how is it to drive on the right hand side? I had my mobil out over the weekend, and meanwhile it is down, typical me but I will load it when I come home but I am reachable at work. Anyway, I am back too missing the outdoors so so much but what can you do, the money has to flow in again, hey. This is a fantastic photo and I wonder where your secret is that you always find THESE things. Really creative, I love the somehow somber mood without being sad or too dark, not at all. I love it this way, the reflections are wonderful. Best regards ... the weather has turned to the good ... just for you ... Barbara.
