Another storybook image.

I've photographed this branch once before, hand-held, with a less than ideal result. So I was delighted to find it still hanging there, in front of the falls, under better, duller, conditions, with myself minded to unpack the tripod. An increasingly rare event in itself.

The slight, intermitent breeze required some compromise in shutter speed - long enough to let the water blur a little, short enough to minimise leaf movement. Better result than before!

Hello Colin! Are you getting in the mood for Switzerland :))) yes it is very often wet but speaking for today, it is a brilliant summer day outside and it was pretty hard to work but we all left at 4 due to a holiday tomorrow. Very nice this smooth water flow and I think your decision was good to have the branch hanging in showing the season but also adding some depth. Yes tripods, but I was happy the other day when I went photographing with someone that actually works semi-professional meaning having a night job to be able to do what he loves most during the day ... he was as lazy as me taking the tripod with him but I guess when it comes to professional work he probably takes it out, maybe he did not want to "show off" ... Do you have a cat too in Wales ... just asking :))) LOL. Have a nice evening, Barbara.

Colin, I am not a huge fan of silky water but this one is very nicely done. There is enough color around the water to make it work and the sparse branch in front has enough green to give depth to the whole scene. Well done.
