Water - here acting a the river's housekeeper; making a tidy bed. Essential work, when your house may at any time suffer the intrusion of camera wielding strangers.
A little study in the big bad world.

Hi Colin,
This is an interesting shot, it takes imagination to spot compostional opportunities like this, and I like it. The combination of the stones in the hole within the overall larger stone works well, and I think the cracks running through it work too to provide some linear elements complimenting the round stones.
Cheers

Hi, Colin,
what Simon said... :))) Truly interesting composition with the hole and smaller stones in a perfect spot. The light and contrast are excellent, lovely soft color (I like the tinges of pink) and there is a good sense of depth from the shadows. You do these so well. Many thanks and warm regards,
Shelly

Hi Colin,
Another lovely image, I like the smooth edges of the weathered stone, the small collection point in particular.
The colours are superb, the varying shades of gray contrasting against the soft pinks is most attractive.
I'm enjoying your series very much.

Peter
ps. I'll take the shots of my friends pencils today and get them off to you.

Hello Colin,
Very nice composition. Simple and original. Don't like that frame so much with the white inside border. I think either black only or the opposite (thin black followed by broad white.
Thanks.
Take care

Hi Colin,
Great looking pothole on rocks smoothed by water. Sidelight shows forms well. How did you get contrasts so charmingly smooth, did you use reflector or just PP?

Hi Colin,
Another superb "abstract" shot, almost like a modern painting. What I love about this one in particular is that at first glance, it doesn't seem to have that much colour but when you look at it a bit longer, you discover all those wonderful hues of pink, blue, orange, and even a bit of green. And you've done a magnificent job capturing the smooth textures.
Thanks for sharing, best wishes
Claudia

I try another one :))) I mean it is not easy to comment stone ... LOL ... but seeing this, I want to go to the next beach or river bed right away trying out, trying to see, I guess my energy comes back returning to full power. I love the soft pink in this one and somehow it would be nice to touch the stone and how it feels or play with the little ones, maybe finding something new for my little collection or maybe just enjoying the momentary beauty before the water comes back. Great study, you may continue ... Barbara.

Colin,
beautiful shot, I love it, A few cracks and one big hole where all the little rocks party. I still really like the smooth curve and bone like surface of the rock. Great collection you got. Thanks

très beau travail de l'érosion; nous appelons cela des marmites de géants (quand elles sont grandes)
un cadrage qui présente de manière bien sympathique le travail des pierres et de l'eau.

I like the juxtaposition of polished bedrock against the collection of smaller rocks. The pinkish-orange muck left over by evaporated water adds a nice color tone to the palette.
Did you use fill flash or is that perfectly soft shadow the result of your Photoshop wizardry?

Hi Colin,
This is beautiful shot with nice stone formation. I like the composition with a lot of leading lines accross the picture.
Kind Regards Jiri
