A grey day as you can see, and all hope of some decent pictures had long since disappeared.
Then a chance slit in the clouds produced this rainbow, which while a shot further left would do more for the rainbow, on balance seemed less appealing, so this is the one ! WS shows the alternate view.
This is taken from the southern ferry landing, which has now been rendered redundant by the building of the new bridge in the background.

Hi. Well I just cannot believe such a superb image , with 128 visits has not been critiqued or even points.. Excellent sharpness .. The rainbow adding a great touch of colour to the grey day.. I guess that's what photography is all about taking your opportunities or waiting hours for just the right moment.. Hope this instigates many points for your fine work.. Rich. Ps. Nice to see your map turning yellow

I like this very much. Although a grey day the light is beautifully soft and you caught the rainbow! The blue railings and object in the FG on the shiny, wet surface makes this composition work for me.
A lovely piece of work.
Kind Regards, Ann

This to me is an exceptionally fine photograph and one which really drives home the message that inclement weather is no reason to leave your camera either in the house or in the car - there really always is something you can find that is well worth a shot.
And you have here captured the most delicious light as the brightness comes in from the right (the east, I reckon from your helpful map) and lights up the pillars of the distant bridge as well as the foreground blue bollard and posts.
The colours are delightfully soft and true, your exposure is perfect and the details and sharpness are exquisite.
P.S. As Richard has already said, this picture is worth far more attention than it has so far received. Time, I suspect, for some vigorous use of the sugar shaker!
