Dreaming of Summer, a photo from Isle of Anglesey, Wales

Photographer's Note

I am surrounded by snow on all sides at the moment so this shot is a day dream for me today! I can't wait for summer.

This is a shot looking back towards Newborough forest and beach form Llanddwyn Island, Anglesey. The forest is a walkers paradise and the beach is a sandy beach that is about two miles long and is an amazing place to visit before you even begin to explore Llanddwyn island itself.

Hi Michael!

Literally, my first thought was "Where in UK can this be?" This is not my first associations with Wales or UK, so I was thinking it had to be something like Dhekelia, Akrotiri, Montserrat, Anguilla or any other more southern exclave... It really looks exotic and I'm sure you could tell someone that it's in the Caribbean and they would believe it. I would! I can imagine it was relaxing to enjoy the day there. It's also a good picture capturing the atmosphere of the place. TFS.

Hello Michael ,
Sometimes , our beaches in northern Europe give a feeling of tropical island . Bt the water is a little colder !
A splendid view here of this little inlet , with superb collors and the interesting presence of the boats ;

a shot to banish those winter blues or should I say whites! An idyllic place with a beautiful sweeping little bay and all alone to enjoy it. Stunning colours and light make this so inviting. Sublime!

I am surprised to discover that the photo was taken in UK. It reminds me more of some exotic islands :-) Beautiful place and well captured. The whole composition is planned and organised and the boat definitely draws attention. Splendid colors!

Hi Michael,
Your title fits perfectly my thoughts! Lovely looking little bay, with sand beach and rocks around. Little boat looks cosy, maybe not so good for stormy weather. And the rubber boat looks even cosier!

Could have fooled me that this turquoise water and golden beach is in Wales, Mike - only the giant rocks are a giveaway. Not bad on the coldest day of the year so far here - when I left for work (at the already ungodly hour of 6:30am) it was a mere 8 degrees Fahrenheit - that's about -13c! So this picture is most welcome today. Thanks!

Hi Michael,
You hav a holiday brochure capture here, and if anyone were to ask me, Wales is not the first place I would think this is. The water looks warm and troplical, and the little boat bobbing about gives that perfect Pacific vibe. I too now wish for Summer, alas a storm has just started here and it is sleeting. This image makes up in the meantime.

wow what a lovely reminder of summer, it seems so far away now. this picture is fantastic taking in so much of the beach and coastline. the beach on the horizon is beautiful as are the mountains in the distance. the light and resulting colours are lovely.

Hello Michael,
Very attractive combination of colors, shapes and textures here - turquoise rippled water, golden crescent of beach, dark grey rock covered with moss in the foreground to the right, deep green stretch of woods in the background - and the two boats in the center stand out with excellent sharpness - esp. the small red one brightens up and "wakes up" the whole scene of delicate tranquility!
