Photographer’s Note
This is my first post to Trek-Earth. The image was taken on the beach at Portmeirion ın Noth Wales.
My wife is Turkish and this was her first experience of tides in the UK. She could not believe that a few hours earlier all the beach, as far as the mountains, was covered by a few metres of water. The tides she is used to in Turkey are much smaller.
The image has had some post processing. The right hand side was darkened slightly. The image was cropped slightly at the bottom. Selective sharpening was applied to the rocks and beach. Overall sharpening was applied after resizing to 800 pixels.
The graduated blue of the sky is caused by the use of a polarising and ıs a typical affect when using a polariser on a wide lense.

Hi Jonathan
Welcome to TE. I am relatively new as well. Great shot. Nice sweeping line that takes the eye into the picture. Good composition and excellent exposure. I rate it two smileys as my ability to rate seems to have disappeared from my screen.
