Photographer’s Note
Aberaeron is a Georgian planned town, the brainchild of a local cleric - the Reverend Alban Jones-Gwynne. Building began in 1807 and included the construction of a port at the mouth of the river Aeron, quays, stone piers and two squares around which were built terraced houses. Many of the houses are now painted in bright colours.
This shot is taken looking across Pwll-cam, the inner harbour.
My great-grandfather Henry Harries and his father John built sailing ships here and at Llansantffraed further up the coast 1830-1864.

Hi Peter. I liked your note accompanying this nice shot. The photo is well composed, and the foliage at the top certainly helps to frame the scene and break up that large expanse of fairly innocuous sky. I like the church tower being a bit off centre, and that line of houses. It reminds me of calendars that relatives used to send from the UK, just a delightful scene.

Andrew

Hello Peter,
I've never been in England, but that's how I imagine English countryside. Very picturesque! TFS,

Hello Peter,
this is a lovely image which makes me miss the mainland more and more. The branches frame the shot naturally and I like the church tower slightly off centre, (no one, well apart from the French, build churches like those in England & Wales.) surrounded by the houses which, to me, conveys a real sense of community. The colours are excellent and I like your note, very informative. Well done.
Regards
Stephen
