Near Kilchurn Castle Photo

Photographer’s Note

This photo was part of an exhibition on Scotland I hold in a big Nature festival in France.
It was one of the favorits of the visitors.
I would be curious to have your opinion.

Bonjour Frédéric,

J'ai un sentiment mitigé à la vue de cette photo.
L'impression générale est plutôt bonne, grâce à la composition et à cette très jolie lumière éclairant le premier-plan. En revanche, je trouve le haut de l'image beaucoup trop sombre.
Le format carré convient bien à cette photo.

the light is great in that picture, leeting out many details in the foreground trees.
pleasant view to the lake, seems a marvellous place!

un trés bon traitement des couleurs et des niveaux pour donner ce coté dramatique a ce paysage, un bon scan mais l'original devait déjà être top, beau travail

Hello Frederic,
I'm not surprised that this caught people's eye at your exhibit. The composition is strong, the light on the foreground is magical, the almost silhouetted branches are slightly ominous and the pallette of strong blues, silvers, greys and browns is striking. I would have preferred to know more about the location and why, when and how you took this.

yes, definitely an eyecatcher! :-) the landscape has been caught in a dramatic beauty with a wonderful mix
of shadows and light. the scenery has something magical. well done & best wishes, thor.

Bonjour

Je ne suis pas surpris que cette photo ait été l'une des préférées des visiteurs (quoique je n'ai aps vu les autres...) car elle est vraiment superbe. Les contrastes entre les parties ensoleillées, aux couleurs chaudes, et le fond de l'image, laissent rêveur. Et nostalgique, pour ceux qui sont allés en Ecosse.
