Back to Scotland today, with no dramatic cliffs but a nice peaceful spot (to look at, not to paddle because of strong streams !).
I'm in a kind of observatory from the one otters are supposed to be seen. I must confess that we saw only thousands of seals !!! And perhaps two or three otters but quite far away, like a very tiny head out of water... well...
The otter is considered as an endangered specie almost everywhere. If the hunting for fur has stopped, a dutch study explain that they're now suffering from road accidents and from the pollution of their environment; directly from the water they live in, indirectly beacause of toxic things "stocked" in their prey's organism. actually, it's quite a common problem for this kind of animal, placed at the end of a food chain.
This process called bioaccumulation stands for the capability of an organism to stock chemical substances in his organism, good one or toxic one.

Hello Marion,
A very beautiful view down this loch in a well composed image. Nice framing from the foreground vegetation with the eye being led to the lighthouse and then down the water towards the distant mountains. Very appealing soft light and colours.
