Photographer’s Note
Glen Brittle - Isle of Skye
A series of clear, cold pools and waterfalls formed as Allt Coir' a' Mhadaidh tumbles down from the foothills of the Black Cuillins into Glen Brittle.
The location of the Pools beneath the looming bulk of the Cuillins is wonderful, and the drama of the waterfalls and the sinuous beauty of the rock formations carved by the falling water give the Fairy Pools a magical feel.
The foreground stone is the anchor to this composition. I had a hard time positioning myself to get this close as I had to staddle over the gap of rushing water. Polarizing filter to enhance colour in the pool and Lee Grey grad 0.9 to help balance the sky.
Thanks for your comments on pervious posts BTW

Hello Stephen,
A close-up of a view I reckognise...
Again an outstanding impression of wildness, emphasised by the dark cloudy sky and accompanied by a fine play of the sunshine and the glowing milky water stream. Excellent light management.

Paul

Hi Glen,
wonderful PoV and incredible colors!
I like the sharpness of the background, and the slow timing of the water!
Very beautiful place!

Hi Stephen!
Gorgeous series of waterfalls, and Scottish scenery! I love the way you have captured the colors of the water. Lots to learn from you. My last attempt at falls, found my speed too slow, and I see this one was at .8sec....seems to be perfect in this case. Lovely composition....great work! Regards,
Steve

Aw heck, I thought I'd given you my last comment, but then I saw this superb click and I have to say, again, well done! You have a quick eye for what will make a successful shot, and here again the light, the color (love the touch of turquoise in the center pool!), the movement of the water, the forms of the rocks, the shadow in the background which is rendered supportive and not hostile by the swathe of light midground. The texture, the feel of the water in the foreground is so real, so...WET and cold and transparent that it makes me thirsty, besides giving an impression of purity. Really, really nice. Bravo! Lynn
