Photographer’s Note
Statue of Robert the Bruce, scottish heroe, foot of Stirling castle. Robert the Bruce, who claimed to be King of the Scots in 1305, won a decisive battle in 1314 in Bannockburn, close to Stirling, against King of England Edward 2nd. He then invaded part of Ireland and north of England, so Edward 2nd had to recognize independance of Scotland in 1328. This story is told in famous Scotland hymn, Flower of Scotland.
