Photographer's Note

The glorious Ben Lomond towering over Loch Ard in the Trossachs National Park.

I got the merest hint of some sun peeking through the clouds, out of camera range here on this long exposure shot. due to the 3 min length of the exposure the light changed and created this surreal sort of tint in the clouds.

The glass reflection was a bonus. from this shooting point there were 4 geese that kept fighting and kicking the water off to the right from me. This created ripples on the otherwise glass like Loch. i was fortunate enough that they paused for enough of this exposure to allow the water to nearly glass back over. Even me stepping in and out of the water to set the tripod up took 3 mins to clear on the surface it was that still....

I was speak to another tog on location and saying how the slight lines we could see in the clouds would look rather fab on a long exposure shot but he didn't seem to get what i meant. Nothing unusual there mind you as i was looking at the slightest ripples in the cloud and calculating what would happen across a long exposure.
