This picture was taken during a very cold late afternoon as I walked down to New Lanark from Lanark itself. I was later to take this picture in New Lanark, but here I was looking back in a northeasterly direction at the outskirts of Lanark as the setting sun cast its reddish glow over the town and reflected off some windows. You can see from where I took the picture if you look at Map:[view].
Shot in RAW and converted and edited in PSE6.

This is a very beautiful view with excellent sharpness and superb colours. A very fine diagonal composition and even a red detail as an accent. And I appreciate the map coordinates. I could find the exact spot on Google Maps and see the same view from the street. I also "drove" further into Lanark for some sightseeing. I found an interesting "Pizza & Fish Bar" in High Street, right here. I Gothenburg pizza is always combined with kebab, not fish...

Hello John, the pink glow in the sky is very pleasing and well exposed, you have done well to retain the detail in the FG snow on the bushes as well as the buildings on the sky line.

I like your idea to do such a framing and light management. The warm tones of this shot make it so fantastic. Well done!
