Photographer's Note
Built in Red Standstone, this Castle is in Bothwell, a 20 minute drive from Glasgow. It lies on the side of the river Clyde and there is a nice walkway along the riverside all the way to the Davis Livingstone centre.
Construction of the castle was begun in the 13th century by the ancestors of Clan Murray, to guard a strategic crossing point of the Clyde. Bothwell played a key role in Scotland's Wars of Independence

Hi Manoj,
First of all, great composition. An off centre point of interest, some lead lines, great sky. You are showing of some cool bits of Glasgow and the surrounding areas....but...I think you have gone too far on the sky in this one. The sky itself looks great, it's the halos where the sky meets the trees and castle that make it not quite so good.
Photomatix Pro is wat you want to buy my friend, then you can do proper HDR and achieve the effect I think you wanted without the halos. Keep it up

Hi,
Impressive building, well set up in the frame from a good low angle to emphasise the shape. Could be a bit sharper tho and the red and blue abberations are pretty obvious. Thanks,
Dougie.

Great castle photo. A beautiful place. I already saw palaces and fortress, but never a castle. Hope visit one some day.

The green grass is just striking and goes very well with the sky colors.
Anyway the lighting seems to be a bit too much for this lat afternoon situation.

super composition que cette image. Les couleurs et le cadrage font ressortir ce chateau. J'ai beaucoup aimé l'Ecosse, une très belle nature que je retrouve dans cette photo.
bonne soirée

Hello Manoj,
The colors are vivid and the castle seems to burn.

J'aime beaucoup la prise de vue, l'angle de la photo. Avec le ciel un peu menaçant, cela donne un caractère un peu inquiétant au château.
Très belle composition.

What a beautiful castle ruin atop of this hillside. Superbly presented and with great clarity. Colors are rich and stunning, and the light management is perfect. Great Job Manoj!!

Dramatic mood and I like the intensive colors e.g. of the green in front.
