Another picture from last summer's Biggar Vintage & Veteran Car rally, this time of what, to my mind, was the most beautiful car of the show.
This is the front end of a 1930's Lagonda Rapide M45, a fast and luxurious touring car of its era, fitted with a six-cylinder Meadows engine of 4467cc. Lagonda were renowned for producing very high quality and well engineered cars before World War II but the company suffered financially and was taken over after the War by David Brown, moving in with Aston Martin.
I just loved the quality of the chromework on this car and the reflections in those glorious headlamps - the yellow reflection is of a 1920's Morris Oxford Bullnose coupe.
Shot in RAW and converted and edited in PSE9.

Hi John, super nice photo, full of details and beautiful reflection, lovely colors, the chromework is excellent level and well polish, i also love the old car...with only mechanical parts and no electronics, sometimes when I go to India I used to rent the old Enfield...i realy like the sound of the motor...and when they break just a screwdriver and pliers to repair, have a good day, Valter

Shine, shine ... I can imagine quite well how much love goes into this hobby John. My father used to collect classic cars but I'm not sure he had anything as pretty as this one. Gorgeous detail and I like the reflections very much. Well framed and lots of well captured detail. Toot toot! Warm regards Rosemary

yes, these Car rally's can be an awesome place for awesome photos.
the subject here is the star.
I noticed you used a24-70mm lens, you would be surprised how much of a visual impact a super wide angle lens would have on cars. I have a 8-16mm Sigma, and when used in car shots, it creates super long lines and unique distortions. Try it next time if you have a lens like that. Its fun!
love the chrome, and the reflections.

such a sharp, clear image. there are so many wonderful lines and features on old cars you could take dozens of pictures of each one and still not get bored. your viewpoint is excellent and the reflections in the chrome from the light add another layer to the pciture.

It's really polished to perfection reflecting it's surroundings. I like these eye like headlamps looking out at the world. A nice detail shot of this old beauty.
