Photographer’s Note

Shot on a lonely beach in severe weather - the blurred headland can testify to this as the squally rain raced into the bay.

Converted to black and white as the overall colour here was pretty uninspiring, but the sky very dramatic.

Shot using a Lee Hard Edge 0.6 Neutral Grad

Hi Craig, this is a good reminder that even junk can be visually stimulating and attractive in the right composition. I like the way you've placed the piece of wood, leaving space to focus on the empty beach and dramatic sky. Works very well in b & w too, though I would have liked to see the orginal unprocessed colour version just for interest's sake. Nice one.

Hello Craig

For me,the best part(which I like the most) of the entire picture is from the middle to the bottom where the rock or wood stands on the shore.That single piece and the heavy sky makes the mood in it.For the ones who`s likeness to see landscapes in b&w this is a great piece of work.
Wish I could see some of the shine on more part on the rocks,covering much more area.Anyway,vertical framing is the best.
