Photographer’s Note
Another evening of wonderful sunsets for photographing!
Very little wind meant calm seas so I could get right down to the waters edge. Given that this location faces due west and so gets pounded relentlessly by the prevailing winds, it is a rare occasion that I can get so close at this area of shoreline.
The island in the far distance is Foula, the most westerly island in Shetland, lying 17 miles into the Atlantic ocean from the Shetland mainland. It has a permenant population of just 26 souls.
Shot using a polarizer and a 0.6 (2-stop) ND Grad.
1.3s at f/20 ISO 100

Hi Craig,
Hard, cold natural material. Nicely enhanced with the dark clouds moving away to the right. Seeing those clouds, you can feel why this coastline looks so rough.
Good note to it as well with some technical explanation. I always appreciate that! Thanks for sharing!!
Greetings, Dennis

Hi Craig,
superb composition. Great use of the low light for the result you present. I wainting for a chance like that to see if I get something near this. I love the effect of the low shutter speed on the water and the light that comes from the sky and illuminates the waves. Great work!

Carlos
