Photographer’s Note
I'd intended to fly out of Fair Isle to avoid the notoriously rocky ferry voyage, but on the day I was supposed to leave, it was foggy and the plane was not going to be flying. There was, however, an unexpected opening on the ferry, which I learned about 10 minutes before the boat was due to leave! So I popped my seasickness pills and hoped for the best. This photo, looking back towards the harbour from the boat, is a testament to my having survived the passage!
